1985 startete die Doughty Engineering Ltd. die Produktion von Spezialprodukten für Rigging, Aufhängungen und Befestigungen für den Bereich Film/TV, Theater und Veranstaltungsstätten und ist heute einer der Weltweit führenden Hersteller auf diesem Gebiet.

Doughty wird von einem Netzwerk von Distributoren in derzeit über 50 Ländern beim Vertrieb der Produkte unterstützt.

"Qualität und Sicherheit", das ist das Hauptaugenmerk von Doughty.

Um Sicherzustellen das alle angebotenen Produkte auch wirklich sicher sind werden diese einem laufenden Testverfahren unterzogen. Diese Testrreihen werden zum Teil auch beim TüV UK unternommen. Alle dort getesteten Produkte sind mit dem TüV-Logo gekennzeichnet und somit "Bauartgeprüft".

Doughty ist seit 1989 Mitglied der Professional Light and Sound Association (PLASA).
